Ashley and Ryan have known each other for quite a long time! They were friends LONG before they started dating! Ryan has been there for Ashley and her two boys over the years so it was a very easy transition to their lives now! You can really tell they are best friends as well as very much in love! I got to see their relationship firsthand for a whole week and they couldn’t be better for each other! I am beyond excited to celebrate with them in October for their West Yellowstone wedding!
I had the GREAT pleasure of exploring Alaska with Ashley and Ryan in April! It was awesome to get to know them as well as take some fun photos at all of our stops along the way! I am so excited to show everyone this amazing adventure that I got to take with these two awesome people! I will talk about this trip one day at a time and show photos along the way! Come on this awesome journey with me!
Day 1 – Seattle
The three of us spent one day in Seattle instead of sitting in the airport for a really long layover! We went to a cute little breakfast place called 13 Coins Restaurant in SeaTac, WA and it was INCREDIBLE! Then we took a nap(MUCH NEEDED)
We continued our day by going to downtown Seattle starting at Pike Place Market, we found some amazing cheese at Beecher’s Handmade Cheese shop, and wandered around the Marketplace! Next we went to the aquarium! We saw tons of cool fish, sea creatures and other creatures as well!
After our aquarium tour we went to the Space Needle! Ashley then took us to a Brazilian Steakhouse called The Grill From Ipanema in downtown Seattle! I had never been to one before so I was excited to try something new and it was INCREDIBLE! Basically it’s a never ending buffet that comes right to your table! These people walk around with skewers of different meats and you can say yes or no to what they brought or wait for the next guy! Let me tell you the meat sweats is a total thing….We ate SO MUCH meat!
And here is me hangin out on top of the space needle(Thanks Ashley for being so sweet!) Of course my hair is in a messy bun!
Day 2 – Fairbanks, AK
We started our Fairbanks trip off right, we got basically the whole plane to ourselves!
We rented our car, then found our way to a cute little breakfast spot, called the Cookie Jar, on our way to our cabins! We had a delicious meal then made our way over to our cabins in the North Pole! Yes, I said the North Pole! After checking into our cabins we checked out the town of North Pole! It is super cute with candy cane streetlights, Santa’s Workshop, and the Reindeer farm! That night we got to see an AMAZING viewing of the Northern Lights RIGHT OUTSIDE of our cabins! These photos are literally taken right off the porch of my cabin!
Day 3 – Denali National Park
Our third day was spectacular! We drove as far as we could through Denali National Park and saw Moose and Caribou along the way!
And here is me hanging out in Denali National Park, Alaska!!! Crazy hair and all!
Day 4 – Anchorage
We flew into Anchorage and met Ashley’s aunt! She drove us to the ski lift in Anchorage and the view was killer!
Day 5 – Seward, AK
This was probably one of the best, memorable and sickening part of our trip! The four of us(including Ashley’s Aunt) went on a whale watching boat tour! We saw so many animals: Eagles, otter, sea lions, mountain sheep, dolphins, and whales! Unfortunately Ashley and I got SUPER sea sick on our way back on the boat…we even took Dramamine! When we got back to the town we saw this guy walking around with his cat hanging out on his shoulders! It was definitely a sight to see!
Day 6 – Mendenhall Glacier – Juneau, AK
Ashley did an amazing time planning out our trip! Instead of waiting in the airport all day coming back home we ended up stopping in Juneau to check out the Glacier! I am SOOO glad we did! The residents were telling us that it is predicted that the glacier will be completely melted by 2030! The three of us walked about a mile down this path to this huge waterfall! It was amazing! The waterfall was so loud we couldn’t hardly hear each other! We went to the water to touch the glacier ice and it wasn’t like normal ice…it was a bunch of separated sticks all together to form the sheet of ice! We were picking up the sticks of ice and couldn’t believe how crystal clear the is compared to regular ice!
Everywhere we went was a dream! We got to do all the things we wanted to do and see all the things we wanted to see! The Northern Lights, whales, moose, caribou, a hot springs, beautiful mountains and the glacier in Juneau! We also ate some PHENOMENAL food like fresh Halibut and Chips, Brazilian steakhouse, crab and other delicious food!!!
I cannot wait for my next adventure and it is going to be tough to beat this one!
Watch out for Ashley and Ryan’s wedding photos in October, they will also be AMAZING!
Oh yes, and LOOK AT ASHLEY’S GORGEOUS RING!!!!!!!
